When I'm Sad I Read Kid Lit. 🌷

I've had the worst week. I have these super noisy upstairs neighbours and I've been so stressed and upset because they just won't stop banging and  clanging.

So my mood has been in the gutter.

And nothing I was reading was sticking or making me happy.

So I turned to some beautiful Picture Books to soothe myself and it worked like a charm.

Here are some beautiful books I've read lately 🌞

Five incredible and beautiful books that took my mind off my problems and made me so happy.

Now some beautiful pages from said books:

Heart warming stories and gorgeous art does wonders for my weary heart and mind.

Review: 5 Reasons to Watch Laapataa Ladies on Netflix

Hello, hello,

We just finished watching Laapataa Ladies on Netflix and we loved it so, so much that we simply had to get on here and recommend it to all of you!

So, without further ado, let's get into our top 5 reasons for watching this absolutely smashing movie:

1. The writing! OMG, the writing! It is funny, insightful, wise and so pitch perfect! I haven't watched an Indian movie in the past 5-6 years where the writing made me actually clap more than once! So, so good!

2. The story. A simple story of two brides getting lost because of being inside navel-length ghunghats. Phool, married to Deepak, sleeps on the train and, Deepak mistakenly takes Pushpa/ Jaya to get off with him at his station because both women are dressed in similar bridal sarees with a huge ghunghat. Chaos ensues! The story is about how both the women find their way back home and to themselves.

3. The found family in this movie so absolutely adorable! The people that Phool (Deepak's wife) finds when she is stranded at a railway station are just so amazing and they teach her so much! Similarly, Deepak's family accepts and value's Pushpa's inputs into their lives in big and small ways.

4. The performances are absolutely on point and so good. Each and every actor in this movie was perfection! Even the actors cast in small roles were so talented and hit all the notes perfectly. Newcomers Pratibha Rana, Sparsh Srivastava and Nitanshi Goel were excellent. Veteran actor Ravi Kishen was so good as the corrupt cop in charge of finding the missing brides.

5. Finally, this is a lovely heartwarming movie and is the best movie we have watched in ages. Go watch it right now on Netflix!
